At the weekend I watched rather a lot of football on TV. Haven't a clue why, I think I may be losing it.
Anyway the upshot is that professional soccerball has reached the depths of boring.
I hold no brief for the city of Manchester. Over the years I have made it clear that I am with Mark Twain on this one, the only advantage of living in Manchester is that the transition between Manchester and death would be unnoticeable.
Today, however, I toast rather than roast the good people of Anthony Wilsonburg for they have very possibly struck the first blow in the victory over transport communism.

That was, as you would understand from a modern educationalists point of view, what's written on a packet of Hamlet and the passport details of Billy Chaucer who had the chippy on the corner of Frog Lane and Spring Gardens in Wigan.
Last weekend was spent with Peugeot, driving and testing a number of models before climbing into the old penguin suit for a private showing of Quantum of Solace in the buzzing heart of Manchester.
Or Anthony Wilsonburg as it is to be renamed.
