Right, birth plus a few minutes of Kai Wayne Rooney and the challenge is how to justify mentioning the big moment on a motoring blog.

Right, now just in case you are sitting there thinking, what with virtually no interest on savings and little chance of affording a holiday this year, the time is coming to pick up a bargain used car, think again.
In 2008 the price of second hand smokers came down faster than a plunging investment banker but the trend is not likely to continue into 2009.

Brentwood , noon, November 26: "Ford Motor Company Limited confirms that the full benefit of the 2.5 per cent reduction in VAT announced in the Chancellor's pre-Budget statement yesterday, will be passed on to its passenger car customers.
Furthermore Ford will action the savings at all its UK dealerships nationwide with immediate effect on car orders, provided payment and legal transfer takes place on or after the December 1 official start date."

The Bank of England may have slashed 1.5% off the base rate but the damage may already have been done to the motor industry.

Now pay attention Bond...

Last weekend was spent with Peugeot, driving and testing a number of models before climbing into the old penguin suit for a private showing of Quantum of Solace in the buzzing heart of Manchester.
Or Anthony Wilsonburg as it is to be renamed.

Really, by now I thought we would have wrung the cloth out dry but no, that old Ford thunder rumbles on.
Here it the lastest:

Ford Focus appeal latest

By Steve Orme on Oct 29, 08 12:38 PM

The response to my Ford Focus appeal all that time ago has never ceased to amaze me.
I know the RAC website did a lot and then Watchdog did its bit, for Watchdog, but still they come and the good news is that most people are either passing on home-grown fixes for the instrument problem or telling me that they have been paid out by Ford.

Before the collapse of the bank of Noggin the Nog, few people would have identified Iceland as a centre for financial wizardry.

Ford device to slow down the kids

Is it parental control gone mad a simply a bloody good idea? Discuss.

A reader writes department...Mr KM of kirkby, Merseyside is a satisfied Driving Passion customer after receiving confirmation from Ford that the £200 or more he spent on new Focus instruments would be reimbursed.
However he makes the point that there4 is still a potential financial loss. When he comes to sell the car there will be no accurate mileage. To all intents and purposes it will have had what the used trade calls a haircut.
Come on Ford, reset these number for free, I know you read this, even if you don't respond to my emails!

bond

Ah, Mr Bond, I have been expecting you... but not in a small Ford hatchback.
The next Bond adventure, 'Quantum of Solace', will feature a cameo appearance from Ford's new Ka.
It will make its screen debut alongside the film's leading lady, Olga Kurylenko. Kurylenko plays Camille, a woman with her own personal mission and who quickly becomes an unlikely ally for Bond and suffers from an inability to keep her clothes on when he is around, a condition known by doctors as 'horny'..
The 'Quantum of Solace' Ka has metallic gold paint and an exclusive exterior graphics and interior trim combination.
Right, lets look at the way things are going. Firstly, cool actors like Connery, Moore and Brosnan have been replaced by a skinny guy who might well be a jobbing plumber. Then he gets a Mondeo in Casino Royale. Okay, so he's a rep. Or in the caravan club.
Now it's torture by blousey bird in a hatchback. Genius.
Any man who normally drives an Aston would rather have his cordobas cantabas flogged with knotted rope than accept a lift in a gold girly car. But then Daniel Craig has already sat through that one.
