Apparently four out of every ten pound coins in your purse is a forgery. It is easy to see why.
There are two major attractions to coin counterfeiting. We rarely study our shrapnel, whereas most are inclined to take a closer look at paper money. The other is the simplicity of the pound coin's design.

That most iconic and best-loved of British cars - the Mini - celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To help mark this important event, Goodwood will have a number of Minis of all shapes and sizes at its celebrated 2009 Motor Sport events; the Festival of Speed (from 3-5 July) and the Goodwood Revival (18-20 September).

Thay say it is so very English to smile in the face of adversity. So here's one I just made up....

That Attenborough chappie, dearest Dickie's brother ( I can call him that because we are, my father always said, distantly related by marriage. I'm not married to him, you understand) says the end is a bit neigher because there are too many of us.

It has taken no time at all for the SMMT to welcome the news and for others to draw their owen conclusions.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) welcomes the introduction of a scrappage incentive scheme to kick-start demand in the car and van market.
