That most iconic and best-loved of British cars - the Mini - celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To help mark this important event, Goodwood will have a number of Minis of all shapes and sizes at its celebrated 2009 Motor Sport events; the Festival of Speed (from 3-5 July) and the Goodwood Revival (18-20 September).

That Attenborough chappie, dearest Dickie's brother ( I can call him that because we are, my father always said, distantly related by marriage. I'm not married to him, you understand) says the end is a bit neigher because there are too many of us.

Paul Philpott, Managing Director of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., gave a "Good, but could do better" verdict on the scrappage incentive programme."Kia welcomes the Government's positive response to the difficult times facing the new car market but I am personally disappointed that our Chancellor is only going half-way compared to other European governments," commented Philpott.

It has taken no time at all for the SMMT to welcome the news and for others to draw their owen conclusions.
This one below I like, after all it smacks of reality.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) welcomes the introduction of a scrappage incentive scheme to kick-start demand in the car and van market.

All the usual suspects then, darling Darling.

Fags up, booze up and petrol up. The cost of killing yourself in this country just continues to rise.
