Please, can't we just have a key?

It may be great fun to sit at the flashing controls of a modern car and make all sorts of Star Trek noises but when the technology goes all E.T. you may wish for a starting handle or a sturdy tow rope.
Mike Nethercote gets up at 4am every day to manage a dairy. At 4am with half a city looking down the barrel of dry cornflakes, not being able to get in your car is no joke.

Ford Focus appeal latest

By Steve Orme on Oct 29, 08 12:38 PM

The response to my Ford Focus appeal all that time ago has never ceased to amaze me.
I know the RAC website did a lot and then Watchdog did its bit, for Watchdog, but still they come and the good news is that most people are either passing on home-grown fixes for the instrument problem or telling me that they have been paid out by Ford.

Right Bond, listen up now. Prices for the new Ford Ka were released five minutes ago (11-20 GMT) .
Stating at £7,995 for the Studio the Ka is available with 1.2 69PS petrol and 1.3 75PS diesel engines, sub-120g/km CO2 emissions .

Honda's motorcycle-to-car communication system is being demonstrated for the first time in Europe at the CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium event taking place at the Opel Test Track in Dudenhofen, Germany, from 22-23 October.
The system generates warnings to riders and drivers of other vehicles by continuous exchange of positioning data from satellite GPS sources.

Essex Constabulary has fitted its patrol cars with chirping filler caps to remind the rozzers what fuel to put in.
Understandable, it can cost a few hundred quid to rectify misfuelling.

Before the collapse of the bank of Noggin the Nog, few people would have identified Iceland as a centre for financial wizardry.

X Factor - don't try this at home

The notion the X Factor and programmes like Britain's Got Sod All Talent are nothing more than a bit of harmless fun has been clearly demonstrated to be badly flawed.
This is something I have repeatedly told my own family, coming home after a hearty winter's Saturday in the field and giving Simon Cowell both barrels or a tickle with the larger log splitting maul.
