Car dealers are endangered by credit-crunch impact
Hedgehogs are not the only endangered species on the roads. Car dealers are looking a bit shaky in the current climate, too.
E specially those who sell four-wheel drives. The eco-bullies who convinced Brown that not-the-global-warming was a good excuse for a tax scam have finally seen a slump in sales. Huzzah and pet polar bears all round.
Funny how the car has been such a popular target in the class war. When we all travelled around wearing a protective gasman’s macs on buses and British Rail, toffs and Tories drove Rovers and deliberately ran down small children and puppies.
Or so popular gossip down at the match factory would have it.
My own father took his driving test just to prove he could pass it. Then never drove a car again in the 40 years that remained of his life.
Now it’s 4x4s that are seen as the transport of the idle rich and what dad identified as a mysterious, sinister group call ‘the bosses’.
It’s one reason I worry when the current governing incompetents and self serving expenses fiddlers talk about getting GB PLC back on the rails.
Then might mean it. Literally.
