Anyone unlucky enough to get into my ribs on a Friday night will know how I feel about councils. When I come to power there will be some changes. And some very badly marked walls.
Now, confirmation of my belief that most councillors would approve a pig on a wall if it was in keeping with their ideology and stood for something politically fashionable. Traffic congestion, for instance.
In Manchester the curse of Richard Head has struck in the shape of a new GMPTE anti-congestion logo. As if a logo can do anything about congestion.
And here it is.

Notice anything from Basic Engineering for Boys? Yup, the cogs are all locked. It is going nowhere.
For this news we have the excellent Association of British Drivers to thank.
ABD spokesman Sean Corker said:
"There aren't enough eggs in Manchester to cover the embarrassed faces of whoever came up with this. Reality is just as bad. Despite consistently falling car numbers in the town centre, average traffic speeds (the Council's chosen measure of congestion) have been steadily falling, so congestion has been increasing. It looks like a classic case of all the gears but no ideas".
To paraphrase Frank Gallagher from Shameless; make idiots history, bin the councils now.
