Parking tickets not a tax? It just doesn’t measure up

Not that long ago slow news days were often enlivened by churning out some survey or other showing that estate agents were thought by most to be the lowest form of human evolution, the very love-seed of Satan and a bunch of remorseless oxygen thieves.
Oddly this ignored evidence that, in fact, the public actually thought that accolade belonged to journalists. Not to worry.

Today there would be no such need to be circumspect. It’s traffic wardens. Bang to rights.
To this end, something you should know. From March the loophole whereby you won’t have to pay if you can drive off before the ticket is slapped on the car will be closed. I am sure nobody would be dishonest enough to do this but quotas could be kept up by just jotting down car numbers as vehicles drove off.
Worse though, is new rules that will allow wardens to ticket cars they judge to be parked too far from the kerb.
Oh come on, now.
There is a road traffic act offence called obstruction that this would fall into, and should be in the jurisdiction of Plod and Plod alone, not some jobsworth with a six inch ruler and delusions of adequacy.
Parking tickets not a tax? It just doesn’t measure up.
