Look at the picture; that’s 7-30am-ish in Marquette, Michigan today, the temperature is minus brass monkeys and there is a good old covering of snow. No problem bud.
At the same time GMT I was listening as the car radio did a traffic advice tour of available stations. Shunt after accident after T-boning.

Why? Nuclear war? Earthquake or simply annual nudie day for lollipop people?
Nope, rain.
What is it about this country? With surface water everywhere there was the usual display of cutting in, racing to the end of the third lane filter and generally driving like a smack head in a stolen XR2.
Look, you may think you can drive quickly but the chances are you fall into the category track instructors know as ‘crap’.
Sometimes to arrive more quickly you need to slow down. Smooth is a much underrated driving style.
But hey big cajonies, to get ahead you need to get on and dodge a bit, weave, foot down go, go, go.
I wonder if that’s how your wife describes you to the milkman?

Steve - saw your letter in our local paper today (The Mining Journal - Marquette, Michigan, USA). Yes, we have snow everywhere (about 107" so far this year). Our traffic isn't always so orderly - during blizzards for instance - but for the most part we've learned to deal with the snow. We've had years with 300+ inches of snow for the season so we don't have much choice! For an example of our not so orderly driving check out www.miningjournal.net for today (1/30/08).

You should stop on up when you're over for the Detroit Auto Show, but be aware we are about 450 miles away (North, very North!). BTW, the automakers test cars up here (cold weather testing/snow driving) and Car & Driver magazine likes to make trips up when they are checking out SUVs.

Hi Steve! Your letter to the MJ where you mentioned my web site, Joe's Lake Superior Fishing Reports, got me a good 15 minutes of fame. Thanks! I think it suddenly dawned on a number of folks that the Internet is indeed international. Thanks too for looking in at our small but great town. By the way, we have a healty dose of questionable drivers too.
