Hole lot of trouble ahead

Posted by Steve Orme on June 4, 2007 4:29 PM |

New and exciting research by Kwik-Fit has revealed that the cost of damage caused by potholes on Britain’s roads could be as high as £100m.
The holiest of roads are in the Midlands while Scots paid out least for road related damage but did spend a lot more than Brummies on essential haggis maintenance.
Two thoughts spring to mind.
Surely speed humps are just as likely to land you in the service centre waiting room with a cup of beef tea and a large bill and, as it seems unlikely any extra road tax will be spent on roads, I should buy shares in a tyres and exhaust company.
Kwik Fitters also make the point that alloy wheels and low profile tyres could also push up costs because they are less impact resistant. Well yes, but they look really nice.
